Betting the Green Bay Packers
With all the Favre commotion over, since the Packers traded him to the Jets, the dust is settling and we are starting to see what this team is like without their stellar player. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers finally got his place as main quarterback after being on the sidelines the last 3 years. He did well on his one key stunt, when Favre got hurt. But him and his back ups, Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn are all novices and don't have any real quarterback experience.
One of the main strengths to consider when betting on the Green Bay Packers is their offensive tackles Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher. These two 9 year veterans seem unstable despite the concerns of many betting fans that think they are getting too old.
The Packers have a very strong defensive line, and one that can claim a NFC North Championship. Their defensive end Aaron Kampman is on of the best of his kind. In general, most of the more experienced players for the Packer are good, if not great. But the problem is the possibility of them being injured, the rest of the team tends to be younger, less experienced players. This can be a major concern for people betting on the Green Bay Packers.
Another consideration is that while their schedule last year was one of the softest of the league. Their schedule this year is much tougher, so much that only the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Redskins face a tougher one. All in all, while we favor betting on the packers to win the NFC North Championship, but we don't think they will be even close to winning the NFL Super Bowl.
