Chicago Bears Betting
For the 2006 NFL Super bowl the Chicago Bears had one of the best defenses in the league. People that knew this cashed in on their Chicago Bears betting. Unfortunately for Bears fans, that same defense ranked only #28 in the NFL in 2007. And to a certain degree this was understandable as some important players (Tommy Harris, Dusty Dvoracek, Mike Brown and Nathan Vasher) were out for a significant amount of time on account of injuries. The question NFL football betting fans are all asking, is whether this team still has it in them to make the NFC North Championship and enter a deep super bowl run, or if they need a complete makeover.
It is not a secret that the offense of the Chicago Bears is not something that can be counted out. Even during their Super Bowl run two years ago, their offense was lacking, to say the least. But during 2007 that offense got worse, and while the team has focused their drafting on offensive players, it is still an area they lack.
One of the most critical areas the Bears lack in, and this is especially important for anyone betting on the bears, is their lack of a good quarterback. Since the mid nineties, they haven't had a decent one. For the 2008-2009 NFL Super Bowl season, the situation doesn't seem any better, with the choice being between Kyle Orton or Rex Grossman. Both of them have not been able to step up and claim their place as a good quarterback, so we don't think either is a particularly good choice.
In defense, last year was a disaster for the Chicago Bears, an embarrassing season filled with health problems. The success for their 2008 and 2009 season will depend directly on how well their injured players recover and get back in the game. The main advantage the Chicago bears have, and a big one to consider if you want to bet on the bears, is that most of their schedule is on their time zone, and with some convenient home games, against teams that are not used to the condition in Chicago, bettors have some good odds of cashing in.
Just be careful of the line and odds you take, we don't believe the bears will qualify for the NFC North Championship, but there is money to be made on betting the Chicago Bears.
